Event Preview
The high-quality action on the DP World Tour continues in the Middle East this weekend, as the Ras Al Khaimah Championship is staged. It is a fairly new event on the schedule, with the first edition of the competition being staged in 2022. However, the venue did previously host the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge in 2016 and 2017.
Thorbjorn Olesen is a firm selection at the top of the betting this weekend, as he bids to follow up on his win in 2024. The Danish star was excellent in the event last year, winning by a six-shot margin from Rasmus Hojgaard.
Olesen also would have taken positives from his performance last weekend after finishing three-under in a tie for 31st at the Dubai Desert Classic.
Patrick Reed is also a player worth considering this weekend, as the American looks to build momentum following a fine end to the Dubai Desert Classic. Reed finished five-under in the final round to conclude the event nine-under and within six shots of the lead.
At the prices available, Frederic LaCroix could also be worth consideration. The Frenchman showed excellent ability in this event last year when finishing in the top ten, and despite being cut at the Dubai Desert Classic last weekend, he did end the final round one-under.
Ras al Khaimah Championship Pick
The absence of some of the big names that we saw in the Dubai Desert Classic last weekend could make Ryan Fox an interesting contender. Fox is a multiple-time winner, and has success at this course to his name. At a much bigger price than the favorite, he is worth taking a chance on this weekend.
