Holly Holm and Mayra Bueno Silva clash at this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night. This is the main event and the bout in the bantamweight division. It was originally planned to include Miesha Tate and Silva, but the American withdrew due to an injury and Holm jumped in.

Before Betting on Holly Holm vs. Mayra Bueno Silva

Holm defies time and, with 41 years, still presents a relevant factor in the division, which now has no champion after Amanda Nunes’ departure. She is the No.3 in the rankings and comes off a win over Yana Santos, a unanimous decision.

Holm holds the record of 15 triumphs and six losses, and apart from the defeat against Ketlen Vieira (very shady split decision), she posted three victories over the previous four battles. The Preacher’s Daughter is one of the best boxers in the division, having a tremendous output that can damage any defense.

On the other side is Mayra Bueno Silva, who is yet to put her name in the elite echelon of the division. If she manages to win here, we can expect to see the Brazilian in a title eliminator or even a title bout in some wild scenario. She is currently riding a three-bout winning streak, with the latest two victories against Stephanie Egger and Lina Lansberg being via submission.

Silva is a very good grappler; currently, seven of her ten wins were after a submission. She is very strong and durable, and it appears that as time went by, she built a respectable cardio. Still, this is her first real test, and many things are enigmatic about her.

Holm showed signs of weakness against the previous two rivals, and it seems that her age is finally catching up with her. Silva will try to drag her on the mat, where Holm won’t be able to defend well as she does in the stand up. Therefore, we will pick the surprise here and recommend betting on the Brazilian.
