The French Open continues on Wednesday with some engrossing quarterfinal action. Just eight players remain in the race for the women’s French Open title and the standout match in Paris today will see Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff collide for a place in the last four.

Before Betting On Iga Swiatek vs Coco Gauff

A thrilling rematch from the final 12 months ago is set for Roland Garros on Wednesday, as Iga Swiatek looks to continue her dominant run to a third French Open title. The Pole won this exact match-up in straight sets last year, and she is looking as dominant as ever on the clay courts in 2023.

The Pole has come through all her previous four matches without dropping a set. Staggeringly, she has also dropped just nine games to this point, with eight of those coming within the opening two rounds. She avoided a long contest in the fourth-round, as she was declared winner of the tie with Lesia Tsurenko following a walkover before the end of the opening set.

Coco Gauff will certainly feel as though she is a better player than she was last season, and that has already been evident from her run to the semi-finals in the Australian Open doubles. However, her form in singles Grand Slam events remains slightly challenging to read. After reaching the final at the French Open last year, she was eliminated in the third round at Wimbledon, before coming back to reach the quarterfinals at the US Open.

Gauff has looked assured on the court so far in Paris, as she has won all four of her opening matchups, dropping just two sets. A firm step in the right direction was made in the previous round, as she battled against a tough opponent to win in straight sets. However, this will be a first clash with a seeded opponent for the American in the Slam this year.

The head-to-head record makes for damning reading for Gauff, as she has lost all six previous encounters against Swiatek. The Pole is a machine on the clay surface, and that could be hard to overlook on Wednesday. Therefore, we are siding with the top seed to cruise through in straight sets against Gauff.
