However, it is a concern that she has never progressed past this stage of the competition.
The Spanish star was excellent in the first round, as she cruised through against Martina Trevisan in straight sets. She won 71% of the points on her first serve, which included winners in 72% of the points on her first serve. Tormo was emphatic when handed the chance to break her opponent, as she converted on four from five break point opportunities. She will need to match that performance level against the world’s best on Wednesday.
