Italy hosts Turkey in the pre-EURO friendly, getting ready to defend the continental crown won three years ago. On the other hand, Turkey secured the spot in Germany and now wants to reach the knockout stage.

Before Betting on Italy vs. Turkey

Azzurri have several absences that definitely create problems for Spalletti, who now needs to fill in all those gaps. The Italians play solid football for the moment, yet not adequate enough to see them as one of the top favorites to win the EURO.

Over the past four games, they have won on three occasions and added one tie against Ukraine in the game, which was decisive for their EURO participation. In all three victories, they would score two or more goals, with the rivals being North Macedonia, Venezuela, and Ecuador.

The Turks had a turbulent qualifying campaign, but in the end, they finished first in their group, leaving Croatia and Wales behind them. At one point, they trailed these two units, but several surprisingly good road performances saw them leap over all of the rivals and reach Germany.

However, the previous two friendly international events left a bad impression. After losing 1-0 to Hungary, they were humiliated against Austria, who rolled over the Turks, 6-1. We are aware that those games didn’t have any competitive meaning, but still, a defeat against Austria was too high.

Italy vs. Turkey Head to Head

The Italians and the Turks met at the previous EURO, during the group stage, and that event ended with Azzurri’s confident victory, 3-0, with all three goals taking place in the second half. Last year, we saw them in a friendly, which also finished with Italy winning 3-2.

This isn’t an important event for either unit, and we don’t expect to see too many goals or some high intensity; therefore, 2 or 3 goals are the most reasonable bet.
