It’s fair to say that there was a lot of excitement around Old Trafford when Man United officially announced the deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. The Englishman was regarded as one of the best winger’s in Europe during his time in Germany, scoring 38 league goals in 104 appearances for the Champions League finalists.
However, he is yet to recapture that same form since joining United, with his best season to date coming in 2022-23 after netting six times in 26 matches for the Red Devils. Tensions rose between the player and the club at the start of 2023-24 after Sancho posted on social media to question ten Hag’s comments regarding why he was absent from the team for a Premier League clash with Arsenal.
United sorted the issue by sending Sancho back to Dortmund in a loan deal for the remainder of the season in January. The winger has been able to recapture his form back in Germany, playing a key role in both legs against PSG in the Champions League semi-finals.
The Red Devils will have a decision to make when it comes to the end of the season regarding Sancho’s future, as they could opt to cash in on their expensive purchase, with Dortmund likely to table an offer for the Englishman when the transfer window opens.
