Jacksonville is matched up with the AFC West in this year’s scheduling breakdown, and so far they’ve humiliated the Chargers 38-10 in L.A., suffered a close 21-17 loss against the Broncos in London, and most recently kept the Raiders’ downward spiral going with a 27-20 win last Sunday. Is Kansas City next on the chopping block heading into the Jaguars vs Chiefs matchup?

Before Betting on Jaguars vs Chiefs

It would be very easy for the 6-2 Chiefs to look past 3-6 Jacksonville this week. KC is coming off a hard fought 20-17 OT win over the Titans last week and has a visit to the division rival Chargers next week followed by a meeting with the Super Bowl champion Rams after that.

There is a little history in this game, with new Jaguars coach Doug Pederson not only playing under Kansas City coach Andy Reid for a year in Philadelphia, but also serving on his coaching staff with the Eagles and Chiefs. Pederson would love to beat his mentor, but Reid also likely sees no value in running up the score on his former protégée.

The Jaguars got their running game going last week behind 109 yards and 2 TDs from Travis Etienne but QB Trevor Lawrence was also very accurate completing 25/31 passes. The Chiefs will allow some yards in the passing game (24th) but have done a solid job of shutting down the run this season (102.0) often times because they get a big lead and teams abandon that part of the game plan.

Jaguars vs Chiefs Prediction & Pick

10 points is a lot to give up in the NFL, and the Chiefs were -14 point favorites against a rookie QB Malik Willis in a home primetime game on Sunday and they needed OT to beat the Titans by a field goal. Patrick Mahomes threw 68 times vs. Tennessee and had 446 yards but K.C. still only scored 20 points. That’s not a team you can give 10 points with.
Pick: Jaguars +10
