A blazing light heavyweight contest awaits us at the UFC 291. The former champion, Jan Blachowicz, meets with the former UFC middleweight champ, Alex Pereira, who debuts at this weight class.

Before Betting on UFC 291 Jan Blachowicz vs. Alex Pereira

Blachowicz was denied to regain his light heavyweight belt as he and Magomed Ankalaev ended their bout with a draw. A very close and demanding contest saw no winners, and later on, the title went to Jamahal Hill, who ruptured his Achilles earlier this week.

The Polish fighter is a vicious hitter, a kick-boxer who learned to use his unreal punching power, which earned him the title at one point. There aren’t too many guys in this division who could restrain him over the past several years, and for many, he is still the No.1 light heavyweight.

Alex Pereira came furiously into the UFC, and in a short time, he managed to win the UFC middleweight title, beating Israel Adesanya for the third straight time (if we count the Glory events). Pereira’s kickboxing skills are near perfection and his size combined with a very hard punching power made him a superstar in no time.

Though, we need to say that he had a big advantage over his rivals because of his frame and body. Pereira was always cutting the weight barely to pass the weigh-in and, after that, quickly restored 10 or more pounds. This is an additional plus inside the octagon for a guy who already had the nickname Stone Hands.

Blachowicz will use the same tactics as against Adesanya, and that’s wrestling. Even though Pereira’s mentor is arguably the best wrestler in the light heavyweight division, and the guy who dethroned Jan, Glover Teixeria, we believe that Poatan can’t stop Blachowicz once he takes the battle down to the mat, which is the reason why we pick the Polish fighter to win.
