Both Michigan and Maryland looked like they would cruise to easy victories over the weekend, but neither could protect double digit leads and come into Thursday night’s meeting off of a loss. For the Wolverines (6-9), their 79-73 defeat to Penn State marks a four game skid while the Terrapins (9-6) have now dropped their last two.
Before Betting on Michigan vs Maryland NCAAB
While neither team comes into this matchup with a ton of momentum, you would have to give Maryland a lean considering they did just have a five game win streak and their loss on January 2nd was against then #1 Purdue. Prior to the loss to the Boilermakers the Terrapins had won 19 in a row at the Xfinity Center, and they’re now 8-1 on their own court this season.
Maryland will try to start a new streak on Thursday night after falling 65-62 at Minnesota after being up 11 in the first half. The Terrapins will turn to Jahmir Young to try and snap their two game losing streak as he’s 4th in the Big Ten in scoring at 19.9 ppg. Young had 37 points in Maryland’s 69-60 win at UCLA at the end of December.
Michigan has the #4 scoring offense in the Big Ten, so it’s kind of hard to imagine how they’ve lost seven of their last nine games. Of course the Wolverines also have the worst defense in the conference – which might not hurt them on Thursday against a Terps’ squad that 71.1 ppg – only Rutgers scores less in the Big Ten.

Michigan vs Maryland NCAAB Prediction & Pick
Young can light it up for the Terrapins, but Michigan has two competent scorers in Olivier Nkamhoua and Dug McDaniel who both average over 16 ppg. The Wolverines have lost a lot of close games this season, so they should be able to at least keep this one within 6 points.
