Jared Cannonier vs. Caio Borralho is the main event of UFC Vegas 96, which will take place at UFC Apex on Saturday, August 24. The fight marks the return of The Killa Gorrila, just two and a half months after losing by TKO to Nassourdine Imavov.

Another loss could mean the end of the championship dream for the 40-year-old, so you can be sure that Cannonier will take the Borralho fight seriously.

Before Betting on Jared Cannonier vs. Caio Borralho UFC Vegas 96 Fight

Jared Cannonier is a UFC veteran famous for throwing everything he’s got at his opponents. He lands a lot of strikes, but he also gets hit a lot. He is 17-7 overall with 10 wins by KO/TKO. However, the last time he finished someone in the Octagon was two and a half years ago.

Last year against Marvin Vettori, he landed 241 significant strikes but failed to get a win inside the distance. A similar thing happened a year earlier against Sean Strickland when we saw him land 141 strikes. Does this mean he’s no longer as powerful as he was before?

Well, he is turning 41 in a few months, but we think the real reason why he hasn’t finished a fight in nearly three years is that he’s fought some real tough guys. So, the big question is whether his next opponent is tough enough to survive Cannonier’s striking.

Caio Borralho is 16-1-1 overall with 13 wins in a row, six of which were in the UFC. A couple of those were against some really powerful punchers, like Michal Oleksiejczuk, Makhmud Muradov, and Armen Petrosyan.

Jared Cannonier vs. Caio Borralho UFC Vegas 96 Offshore Odds & Pick

FighterOdds
Jared Cannonier+145
Caio Borralho-170

Caio Borralho is our pick. He’s younger and more athletic than Cannonier, not to mention that he seems to do well against prolific strikers like The Kllla Gorilla. He’s 12th in the UFC middleweight rankings right now, but a win against such a legend as Cannonier would propel him somewhere near the top of the list.
