A couple of teams riding great depth to somewhat surprising starts to the season meet up on Wednesday at State Farm Arena. The Utah Jazz (9-3) sit atop the Western Conference mainly in part because they have six players averaging in double figures. Atlanta (7-3) handed Milwaukee their first loss of the season on Monday night even playing without Trae Young, who remains questionable for the Jazz vs Hawks matchup.

Before Betting on Jazz vs Hawks

Both teams bring a three game win streak into this matchup, with Atlanta having to claw a little bit more in coming back from a double digit deficit early last time out against the Bucks and beating the Pelicans in OT the game before that.

Utah cruised to a 23-point win over the Lakers on Monday and kicked off their current three game streak with a 14-point win over L.A. The Jazz offense currently ranks second in NBA in scoring at 118.3 ppg, with Lauri Markkanen finding a career resurgence with 21.9 ppg. Jordan Clarkson has also gone for 20+ points in all four games in November so far.

Young and his 28.2 ppg were a late scratch on Monday vs. Milwaukee and he remains questionable with a shin injury vs. the Jazz. It may not matter if Young plays or not because the Hawks showed great depth vs. Milwaukee with Dejounte Murray scoring 25 points and rookie AJ Griffin adding by far a career high with 24 points.

Jazz vs Hawks Prediction & Pick

This really does look like a toss-up game between two teams off to stellar starts to the season. The Hawks are playing their third straight game at home which gives them an advantage, especially since all three of Utah’s losses this season have come on the road (Houston, Denver, Dallas). If Young gets back in the lineup you have to give Atlanta the edge here.
Pick: Hawks -3.5
