Jéssica Andrade vs Erin Blanchfield will serve as the headliner of UFC Fight Night 219, this coming Saturday in Vegas. Originally, however, Blanchfield was supposed to fight Taila Santos, but the Brazilian pulled out of the event. Andrade saved the day by agreeing to fight in the main event on a single week’s notice.

Before Betting on Jéssica Andrade vs Erin Blanchfield

Jéssica Andrade hasn’t had much time to prepare for this fight, but this doesn’t mean she’s rusty. On the contrary, she’s fought another fight just four weeks ago. It was January 21, when she was in the octagon the last time. She fought – and absolutely destroyed – Lauren Murphy that evening.

It was a unanimous decision win, but many MMA pundits believe the fight should’ve been stopped earlier as Andrade was beating up her rival.

She sure has the physical ability to do the same twice in under a month, but what needs to worry her is that she’s fighting a different kind of opponent. She’s taking on BJJ expert Erin Blanchfield who’s an incredibly strong fighter as evident from the fact that she easily took Molly McCann to the floor in her last fight.

Blanchfield is strong enough to take down practically any fighter from the women’s flyweight, including Andrade. The question, however, is whether Andrade will let her get anywhere near her. Andrade is famously a big bully in the octagon who loves to be on the front foot.

Andrade will try to grind Blanchfield down on Saturday, but if the 23-year-old survives the first couple of rounds, we could see her manage to take the fight down to the ground. She averages 4.0 takedowns per fight in the UFC, meaning that she definitely has the skill set to take Andrade down.

Pick: Erin Blanchfield to win by submission
