Starting as an intern 20 years ago, Thymine Elhai has been promoted to the well-deserved post of team president for the New York Jet’s NFL franchise.

Jets Rotate Elhai to Team President after 20 Years

The New York Jet’s National Football League (NFL) franchise has promoted SVP and General Counsel Thymine Elhai to team president. Mr. Elhai will be taking over from Neil Glatt, who has been rotated to senior advisor for the Jets.

Elhai has been with the team for 20 years now, first starting as an intern. In his new role, he will be tasked with managing all team business operations as well as updating Jets CEO and chairman Christopher Johnson about any developments with the team.

Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Elhai had the following to say about his promotion:

I am honoured to be given this opportunity and thankful to the Johnson family for entrusting me with the responsibility and all that comes along with it I have a deep appreciation and respect for this franchise, what it means to our fans, the communities we serve, as well as our business partners.

Meanwhile, the Jets continued to rotate C-level executives, and specifically Brian Friedman who will now be rotated from SVP and CFO to executive VP and COO.

Elhai’s Humble Beginnings Approved of, Bell Back in the Field

The move has been welcomed by most fans who like Elhai specifically because he started in the organization early and worked his way to the top. Meanwhile, some commentators have jocosely asked whether Elhai was the person they would need to demand fired should the season go badly for the Jets.

A lot of hopes are pinned on Le’Veon Bell who is back after a 20-month hiatus. With the season about to kick off for the Jets this Sunday, September 8, Bell is fully prepared to take on the Buffalo Bills.

He won’t hold back, Bell specified in his address to the media, and most likely all Jets opponents throughout the season. Bell was caught in a contract dispute which saw him transition to a free agent, after much hardship, and finally be picked by the Jets in the off-season. During all that time Bell didn’t put a single minute of official game time to his name, but that didn’t stop the Jets from shedding $52.5 million for the player.

According to Jets recruiter Jamal Adams, Bell can fulfil any role and do exactly what’s needed from him:

”I strongly believe he changed the game, as far as running backs, with his stop and his acceleration, to stop on a dime, to have patience in the backfield, letting his backs clear, let his pulls clear.”

Big hopes are pinned on Bell who some fear might be a bit rusty. Yet, the player wants to hit the ground running on Sunday when his official game starts he himself says. Bell is not all about exuding confidence, though. He has acknowledged that the change in team setting and city would definitely take a toll on him.

Yet, he feels confident enough to be seen as a game changer.
