Before Betting On Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall

There will be a huge boxing rematch to look ahead to in Leeds at the end of April, as two fierce rivals will collide for the second time. Josh Taylor will hold the upper hand in this rematch after gaining a controversial split decision success when the rivals clashed for the first time in February 2022. Home town advantage counted for a lot on that evening, but he will have questions coming into this rematch.

Taylor was hugely fortunate to have been awarded the fight in the first meeting, with Catterall even knocking down his rival in the eighth round. Many experts scored the fight in the opposite way, with many believing that it was the ‘biggest robbery in British boxing history’. However, the Scottish fighter wasn’t able to build on his fortunate success after losing against Teofimo Lopez on his return to the ring.

Taylor put in a good showing against the highly-regarded fighter, but he ultimately lost his WBO and The Ring light welterweight titles by unanimous decision in New York. Therefore, he comes into this away game against his rivals chasing a return to form.

Catterall will have the home field advantage for this rematch after travelling to Scotland for the first showdown. Since his defeat against Taylor, he has bounced back to form by winning each of his last two fights. The standout success was secured in Liverpool last October after landing a unanimous decision success over Jorge Linares.
