The Royals (40-31) have looked like legit contenders for the AL Central crown a couple months into the 2024 season, but they’ve hit a little rut lately with losses in five of their last six. That includes Friday night’s 4-3 defeat in the series opener at Dodger Stadium as Los Angeles snapped their own two game skid.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (6-2, 3.00 ERA) goes for the Dodgers on extended rest after pitching a gem last Friday with 7.0 IP of 2-hit ball in a 2-1 win over the Yankees. Yamamoto has a 0.69 ERA in two June starts, also giving up 1 ER over 6.0 IP vs the Rockies to kick off the month.
