It wouldn’t be a stretch by any means to see the Yankees and the Braves battling it out in October in the World Series, and Atlanta has gotten the upper edge in the sneak preview with an 8-1 victory in the opener at the Bronx. The Braves are hot with a four game win streak while taking seven of their last eight overall, while New York is trending in the opposite direction with losses in five of their last six.

Stroman has had an inconsistent month, allowing 5 ER to the Twins and 4 ER to the Red Sox without pitching out of the 5th, but also throwing 5.2 innings of shutout ball against the Royals on June 11th.
Charlie Morton (4-3, 3.91 ERA) starts for Atlanta in game two hoping to continue a solid month. Morton went 6.0 innings while only allowing one hit on June 2 vs the A’s and most recently threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball against the Rays.
