Kansas City is facing a 9-game deficit in the AL Central, but they have a chance to make up some of that ground this weekend when the first place Guardians visit for a 4-game set. Cleveland has won three straight series’, going a combined 7-2 against Seattle, Toronto, and Baltimore.

Before Betting on June 27 Guardians vs Royals

Cleveland (51-27) is rolling as the 2024 season approaches its midway point, and the Guardians will run away with the AL Central if they play like this the rest of the Summer. Cleveland has the best home record in baseball (26-9) but they’ve played great on the road too going 25-18.

Kansas City (43-38) returned home to take two of three from Miami this week, which followed a 2-7 road trip in which the Royals offense went stagnant being held to 3 runs or less in seven of those contests. KC was outscored 16-2 in a sweep by the Rangers during that stretch and only scored 10 runs in the three games vs. the Marlins.

Ben Lively (7-3, 3.03 ERA) has to be eager to face this slumping Royals offense, as he looks to pick up his fourth win of the month. Lively hasn’t pitched out of the sixth in any of his four starts in June, but Cleveland also has the best bullpen in baseball with a miniscule 2.37 ERA.

Michael Wacha (4-6, 4.07 ERA) tries to follow up a gem from Brady Singer on Wednesday (7.1 IP, 1 ER) and build on 5.0 IP of 1 ER ball on Saturday after his return in three weeks from a fractured foot. Wacha’s offense (and bullpen) of course failed him that day though in a 6-0 loss to the Rangers.

June 27 Guardians vs Royals Prediction & Pick

It’s hard to back the Royals right now with their lack of offense, especially with Cleveland being red hot. This feels like a 3-1 Guardians weekend, and they get it started right on Thursday with a good price.

Pick: Guardians ML
