The Dodgers had an interesting trip to the Midwest this week where they swept the White Sox – as expected – but then they flew right back to the West Coast to visit the Giants. Even after having Thursday idle, the travel seems to have caught up with Los Angeles as they dropped the series opener in San Francisco 5-3 on Friday night. San Francisco is now 4-1 on their current home stand as they try to tighten their 11 game deficit in the NL West.

Before Betting on June 29 Dodgers vs Giants

The Los Angeles offense is kind of in neutral right now, being held to 4 runs or less in five of their last six games. This is a top five offense in baseball, but they haven’t really had that 8 or 9 run explosion as much as since a visit to Colorado two weeks ago. Of course, the Dodgers also have the second best team ERA in baseball (3.27) so they’re doing just fine in the win/loss column.

The Giants have momentum after Brett Wisely’s walk-off 2-run homer on Friday night and they’ll try to sustain that behind Erik Miller on the bump in game two. This is a bullpen game for San Francisco as Miller will likely only pitch the first inning, but they are 7-3 in the left-hander’s last 10 appearances.

The Dodgers have the pitching advantage on Saturday night with Tyler Glasnow (8-5, 2.88 ERA) up in the rotation. Glasnow has allowed an ER or less in three of his four starts in June but L.A. is also just 3-5 in his last 8 starts.

June 29 Dodgers vs Giants Prediction & Pick

The price went up significantly on the Dodgers compared to Friday night’s game, but that’s what will happen with Glasnow vs. a bullpen game for San Francisco. Glasnow should have a solid outing, and if L.A. can plate a minimum of 4 runs they win this one easily.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5
