The Diamondbacks (29-32) made a surprise run to the World Series in 2023 and there are signs that their season could be turning around after a somewhat slow start. Arizona had strung together four straight wins prior to Wednesday’s 9-3 loss to San Francisco, and despite the defeat that’s still positive momentum. San Diego (32-32) is going the other way, losers of four straight to drop them 7 GB of the Dodgers in the NL West.
Before Betting on June 6 Diamondbacks vs Padres
San Diego is coming off maybe their worst series of the season for a variety of reasons They were swept by the Angels who are 14 games under .500, are now just 10-21 at home, and hadn’t even won a series on their own field this season letting alone sweeping one. On top of that, Padres 3B Manny Machado left early on Wednesday after suffering a hip flexor strain.
Arizona will try to get back in the winner’s column behind Slade Cecconi (1-4, 5.59 ERA). Just looking at his numbers the right-hander has obviously had some struggles this year, but he did give up just 1 ER last Saturday against the Mets after allowing 6ER in three of his four starts in May.
Randy Vasquez (1-3, 5.74 ERA) will try to stop the skid for the Padres when he takes the mound on Wednesday. Vasquez has allowed at least 3ER in four of his six outings this season while throwing more than 5.0 IP just once. Arizona is averaging over 6 runs/game over their last six, so this could be a good night for the Diamondbacks bats.

June 6 Diamondbacks vs Padres Prediction & Pick
San Diego getting swept at the Angels was wild considering how bad LAA was at home while the Padres were 19-11 on the road going into the series. San Diego is only 13-19 at home, but with the pitching matchup here the best way to play it is on the offenses. Â
