The worst team in baseball takes the field yet again on Thursday trying to break a 13-game losing streak when the White Sox (15-47) host the Red Sox (31-31) to kick off a four game weekend series. It’s a great opportunity for Boston to pick up a sweep and gain some ground in the wild card race while Chicago is just waiting for the knock from human resources because people are going to start losing jobs soon.

Before Betting on June 6 Red Sox vs White Sox

One of the unfortunate things about Chicago’s losing streak is that the defeats have been very demoralizing. They had a 5-0 lead on the crosstown rival Cubs on Tuesday only to lose 7-6 and followed that up with a blown 5-1 lead on Wednesday in a 7-6 victory for the North Siders thanks to Mike Tauchman’s 9th inning walk off home run.

The White Sox keep inventing new rock bottoms for their 2024 season, and Boston would like to add to that as they need a little bounce back after going just 3-3 on their recent home stand. That stay at Fenway Park did end on a high note though, with the Red Sox demolishing the Braves 9-0 on Wednesday. Tanner Houck (5-5, 1.85 ERA) gets the ball in the series opener trying to improve on the league’s third best ERA. The right-hander has allowed 1 ER or less in four straight starts.

Jake Woodford (0-1, 6.23 ERA) goes for the White Sox in his second start of the season, going 4.1 IP while allowing 3 ER in a 7-2 loss to Toronto last Thursday.

June 6 Red Sox vs White Sox Prediction & Pick

The White Sox are in the midst of a big losing streak, but we may have only scratched the surface of this team’s futility. It wouldn’t be a shocker if Chicago lost 20+ in a row so get on board wagering against them basically for the rest of the season.

Pick: Red Sox -1.5
