It’s a battle of the two biggest markets in MLB when the Dodgers (39-25) visit the Bronx for the first time in 8 years to face the Yankees (45-19). We will see if Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge can put on a show this weekend starting with Friday’s series opener which sees Los Angeles as a somewhat surprising road favorite.
Before Betting on June 7 Dodgers vs Yankees
There were some rumors that Ohtani would jump to New York this offseason, but he decided to stay where he’s comfortable on the West Coast. Ohtani hasn’t really fared well in hitting just .130 (5-46) at Yankee Stadium but four of those five hits have left the yard. The Dodgers did get a sweep the last time they visited the Big Apple though, sweeping the Mets in three games on May 28th and 29th.
Not only did Ohtani bail on joining the Yankees this offseason, but him signing with Los Angeles had to have some influence on Yoshinobu Yamamoto (6-2, 3.32 ERA) joining the Dodgers as well. Yamamoto will see what could have been when he takes the mound in the Bronx in the series opener coming off 6.0 IP of 1 ER ball on Saturday in a win over the Rockies. Yamamoto is hittable though, allowing 4ER each in starts vs. the Giants and Reds in his last two road outings.
New York sends Cody Poteet to the bump on Friday in his third appearance of the season as he fills in for the injured Clarke Schmidt (lower body). Poteet got the nod last Saturday and allowed 2 ER over 5.0 IP but this is also his first home outing of 2024.

June 7 Dodgers vs Yankees Prediction & Pick
The Dodgers have won 6 of their last 9 heading into Friday night’s series opener but New York is on fire with 8 straight wins. The Yankees are 21-8 at home this year and when you have a chance to get them at plus money in the Bronx you probably have to take it.
