Friday night’s Giants vs Rangers matchup in Arlington features two teams coming in on a high note. San Francisco was able to snap a 6-game losing streak with a 9-3 win at Arizona on Wednesday while Texas cruised to a 9-1 victory over Detroit in their last game after dropping the first two of the series against the Tigers. It’s somewhat intriguing that San Francisco draws the road favorite tag in this series opener.

Before Betting on June 7 Giants vs Rangers

San Francisco won 4 of 6 on their last road trip, but have started the current stretch away from the Bay Area by dropping two of three in Arizona. The Giants were underdogs in both of their losses and were favored in Wednesday’s road win at the Diamondbacks so oddsmakers seem to have a solid gauge on them. That makes SF being favored on Friday give them an instant lean.

The Giants could get a break on Friday if Texas SS Corey Seager has to miss some time after tweaking his hamstring on Wednesday. Seager has reached base in 28 straight games and is hitting .389 so far in June. Seager is listed as day-to-day, but if he cannot go it puts more pressure on starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen (3-3, 2.96 ERA) who had a nice game with 6.1 IP of shutout ball on Saturday in a win in Miami. The Rangers had lost six straight Lorenzen starts prior to the victory over the Marlins.

San Francisco will try to capture the series opener behind the arm of Logan Webb (4-5, 2.95 ERA) who gave up 4 ER over 7.0 IP on Saturday in a 7-3 loss to the Yankees. The Giants have now lost five of Webb’s last six starts and he’s struggled on the road (4.34 ERA) compared to being spectacular at home (1.71 ERA).

June 7 Giants vs Rangers Prediction & Pick

San Francisco being a road favorite in this matchup considering they are 13-19 in away games although Texas has gone just 15-15 in Arlington.  This looks like a coin flip game on who wins, but with neither pitcher really dialed in right now this also feels like a 5-4 or a 6-5 type contest so that is the angle to play.
