Before Betting On Kaiserslautern vs Bayer Leverkusen

A legendary season for Bayer Leverkusen comes to its conclusion this weekend, as the German side could complete the treble in the capital. Leverkusen could have two trophies in the bag before taking to the field on Saturday, as they will contest the Europa League final against Atalanta on Wednesday. But, coming into this season-defining week, they are still yet to lose a competitive fixture this term.

Kaiserslautern will be the massive outsiders in the betting. They will be competing in the final for the eighth time in their history, with their most recent success being achieved in 1996. Their last appearance in the final came back in 2003. It has been a disappointing season for the German side, as they have recorded just eleven wins in the second tier to finish 13th.

However, they have surpassed expectations in the DFB Pokal, eliminating Bundesliga side Cologne in the second round. Leverkusen will be making their fifth appearance in the final this weekend, but their only success was achieved back in 1993. Since then, they have lost in the final on all three previous appearances.

But, Leverkusen’s form throughout the campaign make them the standout selection. They won the Bundesliga title for the first time in their history, and they have been professional on their way to the final, beating Stuttgart and Fortuna Dusseldorf in the last two rounds.
