Kayla Harrison vs. Aspen Ladd is one of the most interesting fights of the 2023 PFL 10 event. This isn’t a championship fight, but is still incredibly exciting, mainly because it will see the return of two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo after a one-year hiatus.

Kayla Harrison is who we’re talking about, a real legend of the PFL women’s lightweight division. However, the Harrison vs. Lad PFL 10 fight is going to be a catchweight (150 lb) duel. It’s because Aspen Ladd stepped in on short notice to replace Harrison’s original PFL 10 opponent, Julia Budd.

Before Betting on Kayla Harrison vs. Aspen Ladd PFL 10 Fight

Kayla Harrison is a former PFL champ who’s 15-1 overall. Her only loss happened in her most recent fight – last year’s PFL Lightweight Championship bout – in which Larissa Pacheco beat her by unanimous decision.

After the defeat, the legendary judoka decided to take a break from MMA. Exactly 364 days later, she’s coming back to the PFL’s SmartCage. Harrison was originally meant to lock horns with Julia Budd on her homecoming, but Budd was removed from the event due to a contract dispute with the PFL.

The decision to remove Budd from the 2023 PFL 10 fight card was announced earlier this month, and Aspen Ladd was booked as Budd’s replacement on November 8. That’s just a bit over three weeks before the fight.

Does this mean Ladd is in trouble? The former UFC fighter should be in good shape given that she’s already fought twice in 2023. Her most recent fight happened in June when we saw her beat Karolina Sobek by submission.

That, however, isn’t her preferred method of winning fights. This fighter likes beating opponents by KO/TKO as striking is her strongest weapon.

Ladd just cannot outwrestle Harrison, who’s a two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo. But can she beat her with striking? Harrison has never been KO-ed in her career, even though she did fight some really great strikers (e.g., Larissa Pacheco, Kaitlin Young, etc.).

Knowing all this, it would be crazy not to back Harrison in her comeback fight.
