Schedule & How To Watch

  • When: Saturday, May 3, 2024
  • Where: Churchill Downs, Kentucky
  • How To Watch: NBC

Tarifa vs Thorpedo Anna

HorseOdds
Tarifa1.83
Thorpedo Anna2.00

Tarifa is an exciting contender for Brad Cox this year, and she comes into the race after winning on all three starts this year. She was very impressive when landing the G2 Fair Ground Oaks on her previous start.

However, Thorpedo Anna is our pick to win the Oaks this year for trainer Kenneth McPeek. She looked like a superstar when beating West Omaha by four lengths in the G2 Fantasy Stakes, and has previous winning experience at Churchill Downs.

Just F Y I vs Ways And Means

HorseOdds
Just F Y I1.80
Ways And Means2.05

Just F Y I was one of the standout horses as a two-year-old last term, landing the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies in November. There was enough to like about her return to the track earlier this month when finishing second in the G1 Ashland.

She looks like a solid contender in this matchups market, as Ways And Means has failed to win in two stakes appearances, including most recently when second to Power Squeeze in the G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks.

Power Squeeze vs Where’s My Ring

HorseOdds
Power Squeeze1.74
Where’s My Ring2.15

Jorge Delgardo’s Power Squeeze could be overlooked in the betting for the race this year after looking very impressive on all three starts this year. She was a slightly shocking winner of the G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks on her previous outing, but she could be one open to further improvement over this extended trip.

Where’s My Ring has previous winning experience over the Oaks distance, beating Regulatory Risk by over four lengths in the G3 Gazelle Stakes. But, she could find this test more tricky in deeper water.
