The Knicks are coming to Barlcays after back-to-back triumphs, the most recent at the TD Garden, where they beat the Boston Celtics following the OT, 120-117. Following a pretty poor stretch, these two events were a breath of fresh air for the Knicks’ playoff ambitions.
Julius Randle had 37 points against the Cs, who usually play good defense around the rim, while Jalen Brunson scored 29 with seven assists. RJ Barrett had 19 buckets, while Immanuel Quickley added 17 and was a force off the bench in the moments when his team needed a push.
As for the Nets, they are back home following a tough tour through the West, where they had variable success. Though that isn’t too odd, but losing to the Detroit Pistons 130-122, at Barclays in their first appearance since the comeback is.
Kyrie had 40 buckets, though his defense was non-existent. Truth be told, none of the Nets’ players showed up on the defensive end, so it’s really no wonder why Pistons had eight players with 10 or more points. Nic Claxton did everything right, adding 27 points and 13 boards, 11-for-13 FG, but that didn’t help.
