The Denver Nuggets have a 1-0 lead over the Lakers, who still have a chance to turn this series upside down. A win at the Mile High tonight would complicate everything. But can they do so?

Before Betting on LA Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets

The Lakers led against the Nuggets in Game 1. They had a double-digit advantage in the second period, but the purple and gold couldn’t restrain Jokic and the crew, who shifted into a higher gear to win 114-103. When needed the most, the bench again didn’t show up, with Taurean Prince adding 11 points, which was everything we saw from non-starters.

Anthony Davis had 32 points with 14 boards, and five assists as well. LeBron scored 27, having eight dimes and six boards. D’Angelo Russell, who is, in our opinion, an x-factor in this team, ended the night with 13 buckets, but 6-for-20 from the field, and only one three in nine attempts. Overall, the Lakers scored only eight downtown shots.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets were 15-for-37 from behind the arc. Murray and Caldwell-Pope both had four apiece, with the difference being that those were KCP’s only points. Murray scored 22 with 10 assists and six boards. Jokic was unstoppable as usual, with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. Michael Porter Jr. dropped 19 and grabbed eight rebounds.

Other aspects of Denver’s game were also at a high level. For instance, they had only four turnovers, compared to 12 by the Lakers. LAL had 40 boards, the Nuggets 49, with the note that the champs allowed the rivals to have just six offensive boards.

We really think that the Lakers gave their best shot in Game 1, but that wasn’t enough. The Nuggets adapted, and the LAL couldn’t upgrade its game, so that’s it. That’s why we expect the champs to triumph in this one as well.
