Quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens is looking like a superstar after the first two weeks of this young NFL season after another big game.

Lamar Jackson Looks Like a Real Dual Threat

After the way Lamar Jackson looked last week against the Miami Dolphins, nobody was sure what to make of it. Heading into this season, the headline was he didn’t know how to throw. That was a fair point of view considering he had not shown the ability to thrown effectively at the NFL level. Even in his college days he was inconsistent when throwing the football.

After week two of the NFL season, Jackson is looking like he could be a star. Now it has to be noted that the Miami Dolphins and the Arizona Cardinals were expected to be two of the worst teams in the league this season. While that has certainly been the case for the Dolphins, Arizona has been better than expected. That being said it’s impossible to ignore what Jackson has done in the fist two weeks.

Jackson Set an NFL Record Against Arizona

According to ESPN, Lamar Jackson became the first quarterback to run for over 120 yard and pass for 250 in the same game. Prior to the season Baltimore Ravens coach Jon Harbaugh said that he would unleash a revolutionary offense built around Jackson.

The assumption was that the offense would be run heavy considering Jackson’s style. On top of that Harbaugh kept hinting that Lamar would be running a lot more than he did last year. He really fooled everyone in the first game when Jackson hardly ran at all. He ran a total of three times for six yards in week one.

Meanwhile he completed 17 of 20 passes and threw for 324 yards. He also helped himself to five touchdown passes. The Cardinals put up a lot more resistance and actually took the lead in the second half of a game where they were double digit underdogs.

The Chiefs Will Have Their Hands Full

The first big test of the season for the Ravens comes next week when they go to Arrowhead Stadium to play the mighty Kansas City Chiefs. Of course the Ravens defense will be in for a tough day against the best offense in the NFL.

On the other side of the ball however, this will not be a cakewalk for the Chiefs. While the might have the best offense in the league, their defense is suspect to say the least especially against the run. Jon Harbaugh is one of the best game planners in the NFL and he will definitely have something special for the Chiefs. The interesting thing to see in that game will be how he does throwing the ball.

The Ravens Go Where Jackson Takes Them In a sense, Lamar Jackson ceiling is really hard to determine so early in the year. If he plays well again next week, he might be for real but he will have not faced a good defense yet. It’s hard to ignore the way the Chargers made him look terrible in the playoffs last year. The improvement in his game is evident and if he can sustain even 75% of his current level, the Baltimore Ravens will make noise this season.
