According to all the pundits and bookmakers, the absolute favorite is Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. The Herons are +190 for the moment and hold the top spot in the East, though with two games more played than FC Cincinnati and the rest of the rivals. But knowing they have Messi, Busquets and Suarez, rest assures all the bettors in their quality.
The Argentinian has scored 12 goals and assisted 14 times, making him the absolute favorite for the MLS MVP trophy.
Three teams are in the second tier of the MLS Cup favorites: LA FC, Real Salt Lake, and FC Cincinnati. The Black-and-Gold from LA is a good team that has been one of the best in the league in the last few years.
Real Salt Lake is a surprise, and they really improved this year. Head coach Pablo Mastroeni built a team over the past two years, and finally, the results came. Cristian Arango is the reason for the fantastic results, with the Colombian striker netting 16 times this year, the most in the league for the moment. Arango could win the Golden Boot if he continues at this pace.
And the mentioned FC Cincinnati. They have Luciano Acosta, one of the players who could endanger Messi’s MVP run. The 30-year-old Argentinian scored seven goals and had nine assists, establishing himself as the best player in the team.
The LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, Vancouver Whitecaps, as well as the reigning MLS Cup winners, Columbus Crew, are dark horses according to the odds.
