The weird thing about the Lions vs Bears matchup in week 10 is that both teams are considering this an ‘easy’ week due to the opponent. Detroit (2-6) is looking for their first winning streak of the year following a 15-9 win over the Packers last week while Chicago is aiming to build on a few nice offensive performances recently to let the hometown crowd witness the first win at Soldier Field since September.

Before Betting on Lions vs Bears

Chicago looks a lot better offensively lately since an ugly 12-7 home loss to Washington on Thursday night in week 6. Since then they’ve beaten New England on the road 33-14 and had losses to Dallas (49-29) and Miami (35-32) – two likely playoff teams.

The biggest thing the Bears have done is open up their playbook for QB Justin Fields, mainly with some designed runs that have tensed up the defenses to allow the young QB to throw for 3 TD passes last week against Miami. That goes along with his 178 rush yards which were the second most by a QB in NFL history.

Detroit held the Aaron Rodgers led Packers to 9 points last week, an impressive performance although Fields and Rodgers are two very different styled QBs. The Lions still rank last in the league defensively in total yards allowed (417.3) as well as points surrendered (29.3) but they’ll also get theirs on offense against a Bears defense 30th in the league vs. the run and who gave up a 21/30, 302 yard, 3TD day vs. Tua Tagovailoa last week.

Lions vs Bears Prediction & Pick

Detroit’s defense looked solid vs. Green Bay after allowing at least 24 points in each of their first 7 games of the season – but that may be more of an indictment against the Packers. Chicago is going to score on the Lions – but also give up a ton of points too so the only way to play this one is on a high scoring affair.
