These two teams opened the NFL season last year and now meet in the preseason. This one is at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, the home of the Super Bowl champs.
Before Betting on Lions vs. Chiefs Preseason
The Lions had a very good campaign last year and are now hoping to make it even better. Head coach Dan Campbell didn’t want quarterback Jared Goff and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown to play against the New York Giants, but we expect to see both have a few snaps here.
Meanwhile, Detroit lost to the Giants 14-3. Apart from making the first points of the game, with Jake Bates hitting a 53-yard field goal, we haven’t seen anything notable coming from their side. QB Nate Sudfeld had 96 passing yards and one pick, plus he ran 34 yards on four carries.
The Chiefs met the Jaguars last week in Jacksonville, losing 26-13. But that’s not all. They lost WR Marquise Brown, who dislocated his clavicle and will have to miss some time, probably the start of the season, too. Five years ago, Tyreek Hill had the same injury at the same stadium.
Mahomes and Kelce had their share of action in Jacksonville, as both played limited time, warming up for the upcoming season. Mahomes had three completions for 27 yards, while Kelce caught one pass for seven yards.
Lions vs. Chiefs Head to Head
The Lions beat the Chiefs in the opening game last year, 21-20 at the Arrowhead. Goff had 253 passing yards for one TD, while St. Brown caught 71 yards for one TD. RB Montgomery had 74 rushing yards and one touchdown, too. Mahomes threw for 226 yards two TDs and one pick.
Lions vs. Chiefs NFL Preseason Offshore Betting Odds
Team | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|
Lions | +300 | 39 |
Chiefs | -250 | 39 |
The Lions should play with some of their starters, though that’s not 100% certain. But even if they don’t, we think this game will be efficient as both teams prefer to break the rivals through offense.
