The 2023 NFL season begins at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, where Super Bowl champions, the Chiefs, host the Detroit Lions.
Before Betting on Lions vs. Chiefs Week 1 NFL
Detroit will be a force to reckon with this season. Head coach Dan Campbell formed a very good team, with solid players in each position. We are a bit disappointed that the Lions moved on from RB Jamaal Williams, but that’s life.
The franchise from Detroit was fifth last year in points per game, with slightly more than 26 per game. Jarred Goff is now a veteran QB, though he is still oscillating a lot. We personally can’t wait to see the Lions’ defense with the former top pick, Aidan Hutchinson, and this year’s 18th selection, Jack Campbell, hitting the Chiefs’ offensive line.
On the other side are the champs. What can we tell you about them that you already don’t know? As long as they have Mahomes and Kelce on the roster, this franchise will be the favorite for the Super Bowl ring.
Yes, we all know that the Chiefs have maybe one of the weakest receiving corps in the NFL, but on the other side, Mahomes covers all that. And Kelce, of course. There is one more thing that makes the Chiefs the top favorites for the title – head coach Andy Reid. He is a genius who hides all the KC’s weaknesses and exploits the advantages, the mastermind behind everything.

As you can see, the Chiefs are the favorites here, and we do believe that they are going to win. Detroit is a talented team, but we expect them to be competitive against elite NFL teams in the second part of the year if things go according to plan. Right now, they can’t do anything notable against the Chiefs.
