The 9-1 Detroit Lions travel to Indianapolis to play the 5-6 Colts. Our Lions vs Colts prediction is for favored Detroit to cover the 7.5-point spread.
Detroit has won eight straight. In Week 11, they dismantled Jacksonville 52-6. It was their second 50+ point game this season and the fourth in which they scored at least 42. Dan Campbell’s team is not letting anything impede their Super Bowl aspirations.
Indianapolis scored a narrow one-point victory over the Jets, breaking a three-game skid. It was also notable due to Anthony Richardson’s heroics in his first week back as starting quarterback.
Head-to-head, Indianapolis leads with a 22-19-2 record.

The Lions Wrecking Machine Moves Onto Indy
Not only is Detroit searing hot, but they’re the most relentless team in the NFL. While some might be under the impression that they run up the score, the reality is that dominant teams dominate. Taking a foot off the gas is a sure way to pay for it in January or February.
Against Jacksonville, Lions quarterback Jared Goff rebounded from his five-interception performance in Week 10 by throwing a near-perfect game. He completed 24 of 29 passes for 412 yards and four touchdowns. His passer rating was 158.3.
Indianapolis’ defense is ranked 28th in rushing yards per game and 26th in passing yards per game. Goff, running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, and the wide receiving corps will tear up and down the field.
Detroit’s defense is vulnerable to the pass, but Richardson is still learning his craft with processing, decision-making, and accuracy, so he is unlikely to take advantage.
Richardson Needs to Build on the Win Over the Jets
Against New York, Richardson showed he remains a work in progress. But he went 20 for 30, threw for one touchdown and ran for two more.
When head coach Shane Steichen benched him, he could have pouted or gone so far as to demand to be traded. Instead, he accepted it, understood the reasoning, ducked his head, worked hard, and waited for his opportunity thereby earning respect in the locker room, from the coaching staff, and the front office.
Positives aside, the Lions are not the Jets. Defensively, they will not be able to stop Detroit. Offensively, they are working with an inexperienced signal-caller who was benched only three weeks ago.
Lions vs Colts Prediction: Detroit Wins Another Blowout
Indianapolis plays hard for Steichen and Richardson is easy to root for. But the cards are stacked against them playing a laser-focused team with its eye on a Super Bowl.
The Lions will demolish the Colts.
