The Reds were firing on all cylinders against Lincoln in the English Football League Cup, and even so, this rival was no match for them, Klopp’s guys looked well. Meanwhile, Arsenal eliminated Leicester, in the derby of the round, making a statement early on into the season. Both teams here didn’t play with their strongest lineups. But all the players who appeared on the pitch did their jobs perfectly.

Reds Want Revenge
Jurgen Klopp wasn’t happy after the loss in the Community Shield, and that was the first time after a while that we saw the German manager upset with certain things in Liverpool’s game. Klopp was very ruthless in his interviews, suggesting that some players might lose their positions unless they change their approach.
And the reaction on that came almost immediately, as Reds posted four wins in a row, scoring 19 goals, including the friendly game against Blackpool.
They had a tough challenge against Leeds at the opening of the season, beating the Peacocks with 4-3 and after a late penalty from Mo Salah.
Klopp can’t count on Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain because of the injuries. James Milner is doubtful. The same goes for Alisson and Thiago.
Red-Hot Arsenal
The Gunners have nine straight victories, if we include two friendly games and the matches from the previous campaign. In all but one of them, Arteta’s boys netted at least two goals, backing up all the experts who stated that this new Arsenal plays much more offensive and attractive than under Emery.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the absolute leader of this unit, but he has a massive help from all other teammates. Arteta brought in many new faces, and even though the majority of them are very young, they look very mature for their age.
As usual, the team from London has massive troubles with injuries. Callum Chambers, Martinelli, Mustafi are all out. Soares, Sokratis, and Tierney are questionable and will be a game-time decision.

The last one was in the already mentioned Community Shield. The Reds and the Gunners played 1-1 back then, and had to go through the penalties to decide the winner. Arsenal’s players had more composure, and that is what brought them the trophy.
They also defeated Liverpool, 2-1 in the last EPL match (post-COVID part of the campaign.
Prediction
There should be plenty of goals involved here because both sides prefer to attack and play open. Odds on that are -195, and if you add both teams to score on that, you’ll get an even better offer, -150.
