Liverpool play one of their games in hand in the Premier League on Wednesday evening, as they look to get back in the hunt for a top-four finish. The Reds will be looking for revenge against Wolves, as they were easily swatted aside by the same opposition in the reverse fixture just a month ago.

Before Betting On Liverpool vs Wolves

This midweek game in the Premier League looks a huge fixture for Liverpool in the context of their race for a Champions League spot. The Reds currently sit seventh, but they have gone three without defeat in the league. However, they will need to win both of their games in hand to close to within three points of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool come into this fixture after a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in their previous fixture, but the Reds looked extremely light in the forward areas in that match. However, defensively, they have been much stronger in recent weeks, as the 0-0 draw against Palace means that they have now kept three clean sheets in successive matches for the first time this season. However, they have failed to score in four of their last six matches.

Wolves ended an eleven-game losing run against Liverpool last month, as they picked up a 3-0 win at Molineux. However, they haven’t completed a league double over the Reds since the 1950-51 season. At Anfield, Wolves have lost 18 of their previous 20 visits, with their most recent success coming in December 2010.

The Midlands side remain toward the bottom of the Premier League standings, as they could only play out a draw in their most recent fixture. That draw was picked up at Craven Cottage, as they were denied maximum points as Fulham levelled with just 25 minutes remaining.

This should be a tense fixture between the sides, as we struggle to see over 2.5 goals being scored. However, Liverpool’s dominant home record against Wolves could be crucial, and we expect the hosts to claim a 1-0 win to edge closer to the top four.
