Easy Game for Los Angeles FC

Los Angeles FC have a chance to become the MLS Western Conference regular season champions on October 19. That chance is slim, though.

For that to happen, they need to beat the San Jose Earthquakes, which is easy-peasy for Steve Cherundolo’s men. After all, they did it in four of the previous five LAFC vs. San Jose duels.

Unfortunately, they also need to see the Los Angeles Galaxy lose to the Houston Dynamo, which isn’t very likely to happen.

But they don’t care much. Finishing in the No. 1 spot wouldn’t be much of a game-changer for them. Whether they finish first or second, they’ll get to play against a relatively easy opponent in the first round of the 2024 MLS Playoffs.

Does this mean they don’t care about the Los Angeles FC vs. San Jose Earthquakes game? They do care and they do want to win on Saturday. The reason is that they want to keep the momentum after winning their previous four MLS games.

But even if all this wasn’t the case, they’d still be favored to win on Saturday. Not only are they playing on their turf, but they’re welcoming a team that’s stuck to the rock bottom of the Western Conference table.

The ‘Quakes are the team with the least number of goals scored in the conference (40). As if that wasn’t bad enough, they’re also the team with the highest number of goals conceded (75).

Los Angeles FC vs. San Jose Earthquakes Prediction

We think Los Angeles FC will win on Saturday. Another LAFC vs. San Jose prediction is that we’ll see over 2.5 goals. The bad news is that BetOnline’s oddsmakers think so too, which is why they’re giving short odds on these bets: -336 and -333, respectively.

If that’s not good enough for you, worry not because we’ve got another pick for you. Olivier Giroud to score is one of our top bets. The thing is that the FIFA World Cup-winning Frenchman hasn’t scored a single MLS goal since coming to LA, so this is an ideal opportunity for him to get himself started.
