Duke (19-8) is building some momentum towards Jon Scheyer’s first time coaching in the March tournaments, and they should easily be able to add a third straight win on Monday night against a Louisville (4-23) team that waved the white flag on this season basically back in November. The Blue Devils are a near lock to get this win, and really the only question becomes is if they can cover the nearly -20 point offshore odds spread.
Before Betting on Louisville vs Duke
Duke looked sharp over the weekend, beating up on Syracuse 77-55 in the first Scheyer vs Jim Boeheim coaching matchup while the Blue Devils were just a -1 point favorite. Kyle Filipowski had 14 points and 12 rebounds in that matchup while Jeremy Roach led the scoring with 17 points.
We know Duke is the better team in Monday night’s matchup, and the fact that they kept their foot on the gas in a 22-point win over Syracuse on Saturday gives optimism for covering the -18.5 point spread vs Louisville. The Blue Devils were also a -12 point favorite at home last week against Notre Dame, but had to fight for a 68-64 victory. That’s a kind of scary result considering the Fighting Irish are just 2-14 in ACC play.
Louisville started the season 0-9 with losses to the likes of Ballarmine and Wright State which showed this team was in trouble from the get go. The Cardinals have managed just a 2-14 record in the conference and are the worst scoring team in the ACC and allow the second most points – not a great combo. Louisville is coming off an 83-73 shocker over Clemson on Saturday though and lost by just three points to first place Virginia the game before that. This team is still fighting at least.

Louisville vs Duke Prediction & Pick
Simply put the 18.5 points is just too much here. Duke could easily cruise to a 12-14 point victory and still not cover the number so you give the Cardinals the benefit of the doubt here.
