Before Betting On Evian Championship

The high-quality action on the LPGA Tour continues this weekend, as the Evian Championship will be staged in France. It is the newest of the majors to be added to the women’s schedule, joining the Chevron Championship, Women’s PGA Championship, U.S. Women’s Open, and The Women’s Open. It was founded over 30 years ago, but was only co-sanctioned for the first time by the LPGA Tour in 2000.

Nowadays, it is one of the most lucrative events on the women’s tour, with the field competing for their share of $6.5 million at Evian Resort Golf Club in France. A total distance of 6,523 yards will be covered by the field in this stroke play event over the weekend, with the current record score held by Chun In-Gee, who finished 21-under when landing victory in 2016.

There will be a very competitive feel to the event this weekend, with Nelly Korda likely to be among the leading contenders, as the American chases a third major success. She has been excellent throughout this season, which includes a victory in the Chevron Championship earlier in the campaign.

Brooke Henderson could also be hard to completely dismiss this weekend, as the Canadian chases a third major success, and a second victory at the Evian Championship following her success in 2022. Atthaya Thitkul was disappointing at the Women’s PGA Championship last month, but the Thai player remains a prominent selection to win a first major.
