Tottenham have made a dream start to the new Premier League season, as they are one of two sides still sporting unbeaten records. The North London club could move to the top of the Premier League standings with victory against Luton on Saturday.
Before Betting On Luton vs Tottenham
Tottenham have made an excellent start to the Premier League season, and they could move to the summit with a second straight victory this weekend. Spurs have won five of their opening seven matches, and they are among the highest scorers in the competition after netting on 17 occasions. Last weekend, they picked up a huge 2-1 success in North London against Liverpool.
Tottenham boasts an excellent record against newly promoted opposition, as they have won 12 of their last 14. Their most recent defeat against a side making their debut in the competition was a 3-1 loss against Blackpool in 2010-11. Spurs have already beaten two of the newly promoted clubs this term after recording victories against Sheffield United and Burnley.
Luton finally landed a first league victory since their return to the top flight last weekend, as they secured a famous 2-1 victory against Everton at Goodison Park. However, they weren’t able to back up that win in midweek, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Kenilworth Road against Burnley. Their home record against sides from London is poor, as they have won just once in their previous ten.
This will be a first meeting between the sides of any description since a goalless draw in March 1992. However, Spurs are unbeaten across their nine league fixtures against Luton, winning on five occasions over that period. Luton’s last win against Tottenham was a 2-0 success in November 1987.
