  • The Magic are 17-10 and own the best record in the Southeast Division.
  • New York is 15-10 and has the second-best record in the Atlantic Division behind the Boston Celtics.
  • These teams last played on Dec. 3, with the Knicks claiming a 121-106 victory.

Another game on tap from Sunday night’s NBA slate features the Orlando Magic taking on the New York Knicks. In a matchup of teams occupying two of the top four spots in the Eastern Conference, our Magic vs Knicks prediction foresees New York snapping Orlando’s 10-game winning streak at home.

Orlando Seeking Another Victory On Its Home Court

The Magic look to bounce back from a 114-109 loss against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. In that contest, Jalen Suggs led a short-handed Orlando squad with 32 points on 12-for-26 shooting from the field. He also tallied nine rebounds and four steals. Antony Black led the team’s second unit with 17 points and six rebounds.

The Magic trailed by one point in the game’s final moments. Suggs missed a 3-point shot with 12 seconds left. Bucks guard Damian Lillard knocked down a pair of three throws, pushing the lead to three points. Suggs missed another 3-point shot that would have tied the game before Giannis Antetokounmpo added two more free throws, enabling the Bucks to come away with a five-point victory.

Knicks Look To Bounce Back From Loss To Hawks

Meanwhile, the Knicks come into this matchup on the heels of a disappointing 108-100 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. New York produced a solid scoring effort in which all five starters reached double figures.

Josh Hart scored a team-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds and six assists. Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges scored 19 points each, while Jalen Brunson was held to 14 points on 5-for-15 shooting overall and 2-for-6 from 3-point range.

The Knicks held a seven-point advantage (54-47) at the break. However, the Hawks turned things around in the second half, outscoring New York 61-46, including a 34-18 advantage in the third quarter.

Magic vs Knicks Prediction: New York Edges Orlando In A Close One

Both teams are having a good season. The Magic have the third-best record in the Eastern Conference, while the Knicks trail them by just one game in the standings. Orlando has the league’s top defense and is ranked third in defensive rating. Unfortunately, without their top two scorers in the rotation — Paolo Banchero (29.0 PPG) and Franz Wagner (24.4 PPG) — the Magic don’t have enough firepower to keep up with New York in this one. That said, look for the Knicks to get the road victory.
