A season-defining game in the Premier League takes place on Wednesday, as the top two clash at the Etihad. Man City could move to within two points of Arsenal at the top of the standings, with Pep Guardiola’s side also having two games in hand over their rivals. Arsenal will need a victory to ensure that their title chances remain in their own hands.

Before Betting On Man City vs Arsenal

The biggest game of the Premier League season so far takes place at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. It is a must-win game for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, as they have been held to three straight draws in the Premier League. That run of form means that they hold just a five-point advantage over City, with the chasing champions having two games in hand over their rivals.

Man City has been in excellent recent form, as they have won their previous six in the Premier League. Guardiola’s side also remains on course for the treble this term, having booked their spot in the FA Cup final in their previous fixture against Sheffield United.

Guardiola’s record against Arsenal since arriving at City is exceptional, as he has won all six of his home games against the Gunners. Over that run, City has scored 17 goals, and they have allowed just three. The Gunners also have a poor record against City, as they have lost each of their last eleven against the reigning champions. Arsenal has also scored just three goals in their last ten against City.

City also comes into this fixture in solid form against the Gunners this season, as they have recorded two wins against Arsenal this term. The most recent of those was a 3-1 success at the Emirates.

Arsenal’s season has fallen apart after successive draws against Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton. Only a win for the Gunners will do at the Etihad. However, it’s exceptionally difficult to see that result occurring, given the poor record that they have against City, and the home side’s recent run of results.
