Before Betting On Man City vs Chelsea

One of the biggest matches of the English soccer season takes place this weekend, as the two semi-finals to determine the clubs that will compete in the FA Cup final will be staged. Man City are on course for a second straight treble under Pep Guardiola, and this semi-final against Chelsea could be seen as one of their most challenging domestic fixtures remaining this term.

City claimed FA Cup success last term with a dramatic 2-1 success over Man United at Wembley. They have encountered few issues on their way through to this stage this season, winning all of their four previous ties since the third round. In the previous round, City were extremely comfortably as they claimed a 2-0 success over Newcastle United at the Etihad.

Chelsea have already appeared in one domestic cup final this season, but they were beaten in the EFL Cup showpiece by Liverpool in late February. The Blades have reached the FA Cup final on 16 previous occasions, but they have recorded just eight final victories. Their recent record is extremely poor after losing in three of the last four finals since 2020.

Chelsea have survived a couple of scares to reach this stage of the competition this term, including the requirement for a replay to edge past Aston Villa in the fourth round. The Blues needed to be at their very best in the previous round of the FA Cup to claim a 4-2 success at Stamford Bridge against Leicester City.
