Manchester City’s hunt for a third straight Premier League title continues this weekend, as the reigning champions welcome Leicester City to the Etihad. Both sides will be desperate for the points, as they compete at both ends of the Premier League standings.
Before Betting On Man City vs Leicester City
Manchester City appear to be gearing up for an important final month of the season. City was excellent in midweek, as they recorded a huge 3-0 home win over Bayern Munich, which makes this challenge for Leicester all the more daunting on Saturday. A City will would leave them three points behind Arsenal, with the Gunners taking to the field against West Ham United on Sunday morning.
Since defeat against Spurs in February, City has won seven of their eight previous fixtures in the Premier League. They also come into this fixture having won each of their last five. Over that period, they have scored an impressive 22 goals, and have conceded just six. During the same period, Pep Guardiola’s side has also opened the scoring on seven separate occasions.
Leicester City has turned to Dean Smith to save their season, but things already appear incredibly bleak for the Foxes. They sit second bottom in the Premier League standings, and they have lost five of their last six matches. However, they remain just two points from safety, meaning an unlikely win this weekend could lift them out of the bottom three.
But, Leicester has lost five of their previous six visits to the Etihad Stadium. City also has an excellent recent record against the Foxes after winning ten of the last 12, with the only win for Leicester over that period at the Etihad coming in the form of a 5-2 win in September 2020.
