Manchester City and Liverpool meet just a few days following the World Cup finals. The two big English units clash in the EFL Cup on Thursday at Etihad Stadium.

Before Betting on Man City vs. Liverpool

The Citizens have been very confident at home this year. Before losing to Brentford, 1-2, in their last game of the EPL campaign before the start of the World Cup, Guardiola and the boys had 13 consecutive wins across all the competitions.

Erling Haaland is back in shape, and he posted various content on social media showing off his hard work during the pause. The Citizens have all the players at their disposal, because the majority of them came back from Qatar 10 days ago.

Liverpool also had several top players throughout the entire pause, like Salah and Firmino. The Reds were impressive in some of the friendly games, like against Milan, whom they trashed 4-1.

Liverpool has numerous problems in the defense, which has been a crucial problem for Klopp this year. The back line used to be their primary weapon in winning points, but this year has been terrible for Van Dijk and the boys, who kept only two clean sheets on the road.

Eight of the past 10 head-to-head games these two units played ended with at least three goals, and four of the past five saw scores on both ends and four goals at least, so we are recommending betting on high efficiency here, presumably over 2.5 hits.
