Man United will have questions to answer when they return to action at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Red Devils have been extremely underwhelming in their opening two matches of the new season, and they will be looking to make a statement against Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Before Betting On Man United vs Nottingham Forest

Erik ten Hag continues to face questions surrounding his side’s chances of finishing in the top four this term, as they have looked extremely weak in the midfield area across their opening two matches of the season. United were able to paper over those cracks in their opening match of the campaign, as they landed a 1-0 win over Wolves. However, they weren’t so fortunate on matchday two against Tottenham.

In truth, the Red Devils had their chances to take an early advantage in North London, and they were made to pay for their lack of quality in the final third as Spurs scored twice in the second half. It was the first time that United had lost at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The defeat also means that the Red Devils have now won just once in their last ten Premier League matches in London.

Steve Cooper will be hoping that his side can cause a massive shock at Old Trafford this weekend, as Forest should come into the match in good confidence after picking up a first league win of the season against Sheffield United. They were made to work hard to claim maximum points, with their winning goal being scored with just a minute of the 90 remaining by Chris Wood.

The winning goal was their latest winner in a Premier League match since December 1996. Taiwo Awoniyi also made history in the match at the City Ground, as the striker became the first Forest player since Stan Collymore to score in sixth consecutive Premier League matches.

It has been a testing start to the new season for United, but they should be more comfortable back at Old Trafford this weekend. We expect the hosts to claim maximum points, but it could be a low-scoring affair at Old Trafford.
