Despite dropping points last weekend, it could be argued that Man United’s performance against Crystal Palace was their best under Erik ten Hag this term.

The Red Devils dominated the possession, and limited Palace to few clear opportunities. In fact, it was United’s lack of clinical edge that was ultimately their Achilles heel after failing to score from six shots on target.

No side in the Premier League has missed more big opportunities than United this term, with Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both striking the bar in the first half at Selhurst Park last Saturday.

It was the fourth goalless draw that United have played out under ten Hag in 81 matches, and the first since a stalemate against Liverpool in December 2023.

Tottenham sit just above United in the current standings after winning twice in their opening five matches this term.

A much-needed return to winning ways arrived last Saturday, as Spurs fought back from a 1-0 deficit to claim a 3-1 home success against Brentford.

Dominic Solanke finally got off the mark following his move from Bournemouth in the summer, while James Maddison was also among the scorers in North London.

United’s defense will certainly be tested by Spurs this weekend, as the North London club looked lively in the final third last weekend after attempting 23 shots and recording an xG of 3.51.

Man United vs. Tottenham Prediction

Tottenham have gone three without defeat against United, but they have recorded just one win in their last five league visits to Old Trafford.

An open game is expected this weekend, with over 2.5 goals being scored in six of the last eight encounters between these sides.

However, the narrow preference is in favor of the hosts.
