It is expected to be a busy transfer window this summer for Manchester United, and the Red Devils have reportedly already eyed their biggest targets for the coming summer. United could be made to wait until later in the summer before making a move as the Premier League have reportedly outlined plans for the transfer window to shift.
The summer window was due to open in the next couple of weeks. But the Premier League have now revealed plans for the window to open in August and close in September. It isn’t believed to have any impact on United’s plans. As they could be targeting one of the most promising youngsters in world football according to the latest reports.
United Have Eyes on Barca Star
According to the reports in the press, United had an offer in the region of 100 million euros rejected for Ansu Fati. The deal was put together by super-agent Jorge Mendes, with the Portuguese reportedly asking Barca how much it would take to prize the youngster away from the Camp Nou. The news of the deal would come as a shock to most, as many expect United to make a big move this summer for Jadon Sancho.
United weren’t the only club following the developments in Spain. With various other top clubs also watching to see whether there was a chance that the youngster could be persuaded to leave Spain. Fati has found his chances at the Nou Camp limited since the arrival of Martin Braithwaite, and Mendes believes that the winger is too talented to be playing in the Barcelona B team.
The 17-year-old has already made an immediate impact this season, as he has scored four goals in seven starts for Barcelona. He has also recorded one assist domestically and thrives in the final third of the pitch. The fee being talked about is huge, but his potential is clear for all to see.
Manchester United Looking For Midfielder
It is believed that Sancho is still United’s number one transfer target this summer. But they are also looking to add further depth to their midfield. The Red Devils lost Ander Herrera last summer and failed to replace him. The signing of Bruno Fernandes in January has added a new layer of quality, and fans are already exciting at the prospect of Fernandes linking up with Paul Pogba between now and the end of the season.
United will still look to bring in one or two new midfielders over the summer. Jack Grealish has long-been one of the club’s biggest targets. But his future could ultimately be decided by whether Aston Villa remains in the Premier League this season. It has also been reported that United may instead make a move for Donny van de Beek.
The 23-year-old has also been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona. But Ajax CEO Edwin van der Saar has admitted that United are the front runners. The midfielder scored eight goals and made five assists in 22 Eredivisie games this season.
