Before Betting On Marie Bouzkova vs Anett Kontaveit

This should be a thrilling match-up in the second round at Wimbledon on Thursday. Marie Bouzkova is always one of the sleeper picks on the grass, and we expect her to play a prominent role through to the second week of the Grand Slam. She showed her quality on the grass in 2021, as she won the WTA doubles title at the Birmingham Classic. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old made it through to the quarterfinal stage at Wimbledon last year before losing to Ons Jabeur in three sets.

Bouzkova looked to be in excellent form in the opening round, as she easily landed victory over Simona Waltert on Court 5. She won in straight sets, winning 76% of the points on her first serve. Interestingly, she was also professional on the second serve, as she won 71% of the points. Bouzkova was emphatic when handed chances to break, as she converted on four from five opportunities.

Anett Kontaveit is a very serious challenger in the second round, as she has previously reached two WTA 1000 finals, and has won six professional events throughout her career. The former world number two has recently announced that Wimbledon will be her final tennis event, as she will retire after the championships following a lumbar disc degeneration diagnosis.

The Estonian player will be looking to reach the third round for just the fourth time in her career, but she fell at this stage 12 months ago. However, she looked in excellent form in the previous round, as she landed a straight sets win over Lucrezia Stefanini. In that win, she recorded two aces, and converted on four from eight break point opportunities.
