One of the best road teams in the NHL meets one of the best home teams when the Eastern Conference Finals between the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers gets underway on Wednesday. The President’s Trophy winning Rangers have home ice throughout the postseason, but the offshore sportsbooks still have Game 1 basically a toss-up as the Panthers have made their second straight trip to the conference finals.

This was the conference finals most people expected as the experienced Panthers – who made the Stanley Cup Finals last season – meet the upstart Rangers who set team records for wins and points this season. Counting the postseason New York has gone 34-12-0 at Madison Square Garden this year, but Florida has been amazing on the road with a 30-12-4 mark.
New York has gone 8-2 this postseason, winning their first seven games of the playoffs. Obviously all eyes are going to be on 2022 Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin who has posted a 2.40 GAA in 10 postseason games with a .923 save percentage which as a team is the third best in the playoffs.

While Shesterkin gets a lot of national love, Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has had a dominating postseason himself. The Panthers netminder has allowed two goals or less in six of his last seven outings and Florida ranked #1 in the league during the regular season giving up just 2.4 scores per game.
