Mediocrity is on display Thursday night when the 27-28 Tigers meet the 28-28 Red Sox to kick off a four game weekend series at Fenway Park. Detroit has to be a little bit fatigued after splitting a double-header at home vs. the Pirates on Wednesday, but Boston has also lost four of their last six so pick your poison in this matchup.
Before Betting on May 30 Tigers vs Red Sox
Detroit is coming off a double-header which is always a tough order, especially when Wednesday was so mismatched with an 8-0 win over the Pirates during the day but then a crushing 10-2 defeat in the night cap. The Tigers had won four in a row prior to splitting the double-header, including a wild 14-11 victory over the Blue Jays over the weekend.
Of course the biggest thing about a quick turnaround after a double header is the status of Detroit’s bullpen. Tarik Skubal threw 7.0 IP in the day game and Mason Englert threw a perfect 2.0 IP to complete the win. Keider Montero only tossed 4.1 IP in the late contest though and A.J. Hinch had to use four relievers to get through the 10-2 loss.
Jack Flaherty (1-4, 3.84 ERA) goes for Detroit on Thursday, and he’s been slightly better on the road (3.41) compared to at home (4.22). The Tigers have also lost five of Flaherty’s last six starts though.
Boston counters with Nick Pivetta (2-3, 4.20 ERA) who has made four starts this month and allowed 5+ ER in two of those. The right-hander is very inconsistent, and it looks like it all depends on what day you get him.

May 30 Tigers vs Red Sox Prediction & Pick
The side wager in this game is basically a toss-up, and the offshore odds reflect that. Therefore flip a coin on the winner, but this total of 7 is way too low with two inconsistent pitchers on the bump.
